These models aim to advance both glycobiology and biotechnology research by providing insights into how specific glycosylation changes can affect protein function and interaction with other biomolecules. This type of research will significantly contribute to biopharmaceuticals, where glycoproteins are often used as therapeutic agents, particularly in monoclonal antibodies.
