Bitdefender and secunet have partnered to deliver sovereign cybersecurity solutions ensuring sensitive security data stays within European jurisdiction while offering advanced threat protection through Bitdefender’s GravityZone platform.

Under the collaboration, Bitdefender will deploy its GravityZone solution on secunet’s SysEleven OpenStack Cloud. All configuration, telemetry, and security data will be processed and stored in the EU helping customers meet strict compliance, data residency, and sovereignty requirements.

Key Elements of the Partnership

  • Local hosting & data control: GravityZone will run on secunet’s SysEleven cloud environment in Germany, ensuring that no data leaves EU borders.

  • Targeted industries: This offering is designed for sectors with rigorous compliance needs such as energy, healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and critical infrastructure.

  • Expanded channel ecosystem: Managed service providers (MSPs) and security partners can now deploy and manage GravityZone in a sovereign cloud context for clients with strict regulatory demands.

  • Cloud & compliance credentials: The SysEleven OpenStack Cloud is certified with standards like ISO 27001, IT-Grundschutz, and C5. a trusted choice among sovereign cloud providers in Germany.

Andrei Florescu, President of Bitdefender Business, stated that organizations in Europe require security tools that combine advanced detection, prevention, and response while preserving full control over their data.

Andreas Rückriegel, CEO of SysEleven and VP Cloud at secunet, remarked that this partnership strengthens digital resilience, positioning European businesses and public authorities to operate securely and compliantly.

Why This Partnership Matters

  1. Digital sovereignty becomes real
As regulatory and geopolitical pressures grow, European organizations demand cybersecurity solutions that ensure data remains within local borders this partnership makes that possible in practice.

  2. Compliance alignment
With GDPR, NIS2, DORA, and other regulations around the corner or already in effect, storing and processing security data locally helps alleviate legal and reputational risks.

  3. Enhanced trust for critical sectors
For industries like healthcare, energy, and finance, where data breaches can have severe consequences, the ability to enforce local data control is a major differentiator.

  4. Strategic European positioning
By combining a global cybersecurity vendor (Bitdefender) with a respected sovereign cloud provider (secunet / SysEleven), the partnership fosters stronger technology autonomy in Europe.
