編者按：香港大學學者SIKYINGHO博士和多倫多大學學者KATATTSANG在香港

聯合進行了一項關於青少年性教育的調查，研究涉及年輕女性「關於陰莖的經驗」。結果顯示，儘管存在各種各樣的社會努力試圖限制女孩子接觸到陰莖，現實情況是，她們仍然能夠通過各種渠道輕易接觸到陰莖。接受調查的女孩共分爲九個典型組，儘管大多數受訪者表達了她們對陰莖的「正常」反應？？噁心、討厭，仍然有一部分受訪者說出了她們的正面體驗：有力、神秘、充實。

作爲男性身體的一個部分，陰莖常常被認爲是不能被看到的，需要藏起來的。在人們的日常話語中，也存在著一種無聲的規範，禁止婦女隨意談論男人的陰莖。陰莖需要隱藏起來，是因爲它可能成爲對女人進行性侵犯的有力工具，從而對女性造成威脅。在香港，女性無意中遇到陰莖或其象徵物，一般都會感到尷尬、震驚或者厭惡。她們接觸到陰莖的途徑很多，包括：家人、鄰居、裸露癖者、色情片、親密伴侶等。本文記錄了香港的年輕女性在成長過程中是如何接觸到陰莖，如何調適自己的性身份，以及在特定的社會規範下如何控制和形成自身的性狀態等問題。
